Category Archives: Travel The Iceland coast is every bit as spectacular as the glaciers and mountains. The sea arch at Dyrholeay is quite beautiful. It’s amazing that I got a picture at all b/c the wind was unbelievable. You could literally lean into it. Its interesting how quiet this image feels knowing how violent the air was that...  I won’t event attempt to say Búðakirkja. No idea. But what a gorgeous setting. I stumbled upon this on my way to a lovely dinner one evening. The architecture and man made side of Iceland is equally as interesting as the natural.  One of the most amazing things about Iceland is that you can more or less go anywhere you can physically get to. Driving along the southern coast you pass many huge glaciers and if you find the right road you can drive right up to them. I was told this was a really goos spot...  Totally bizarre landscape. Icebergs from the Vatnajökull (the glacier) break off and flow into Jökulsárlón (the lagoon) and then flow out to the ocean where they are bashed by the waves and deposited onto the beach, which is black volcanic sand. I had a spectacular morning here and was completely alone. This is one of the most...  This is Gullfoss which is part of the Golden Circle in Iceland. This waterfall is totally mesmerizing. It’s basically a river pouring into this enormous gash in the earth. Absolutely amazing. I only had a week on this visit but I was fortunate to cover some ground thanks to my campervan.
