While I was home in NC for the Holidays we got a pretty amazing winter storm. If only it had come a day earlier we would have had a white Christmas! Now these days seeing snow is not quite the novelty it was growing up in Eastern NC. We are basically buried in it here in WY for the next 4-5 months, at least. But there is something really visceral about wandering the woods behind my house with snow covering the ground. I spent a lot of time in these woods as a kid. Wandering them as a much bigger kid with my big kid toy (4×5 camera) is a total throwback to the past. This was a gorgeous day. Quiet, serene, lonely…..
